The First Week's Lack of Work

I have to say that I'm surprised.  Maybe I am a little naive, but I thought the Braves would have done something by now.  WIth all of the money that has been freed up in the past months after the moves of some big money players like Mark Texiera, Tom Glavine, and  Mike Hampton, I expected the Braves to have made at least a signing.

Obviously, all of us Braves fans are hoping for a trade with the Padres for Jake Peavy.  There are only two things that I can think of that would explain the Braves inactivity.

1.  They are hoping to get a deal for Peavy still, and therefore they aren't making any moves until they can plan accordingly.

2.  Agents have delayed the process because of negotiations.

If anyone has any thoughts or other reasons the Braves haven't done anything yet, let me know what you think.

About Winter Meetings
I am awaiting the actual progression of these winter meetings anxiously. It seems as though, today, agents control the game rather than things being able to get done quickly. So I suppose I will wait it out and hope for the best. By the best, I mean the Braves get Peavy, Burnett, and Lowe... and another big bat. I know I'm dreaming, but that's the best of which I can think.
